INDG 404 - Issues in Contemporary Native and Indigenous Life This course introduces students contemporary issues of importance to Native Americans and other indigenous peoples. Students will begin by examining briefly the concept of “tribal sovereignty.” Students will then broaden their understanding of indigeneity by exploring themes, including: political activism, repatriation of sacred objects, land and water rights, economic development, education, and health care. 3 credits
