Instructional Design in E-learning (MSEd)

In addition to being offered on Northern State University’s main campus (Aberdeen, SD), this program is also available online.

Students who graduate with an undergraduate BSEd degree from NSU, and who have taken ELRN 510 , ELRN 535 , ELRN 585 , and ELRN 594  can complete the Instructional Design in E-learning (MSEd) degree in one year (Fall, Spring, Summer semesters.)

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Graduate students will utilize and apply contemporary learning theories to develop remote learning experiences.
  • Graduate students will investigate factors influencing access to education and design instructional and training interventions to provide equitable access to education.
  • Graduate students will select, evaluate or design digital media to support learning.
  • Graduate students will identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies to support remote learning.
  • Graduate students will apply data analysis techniques to the design and evaluation of learning experiences.
  • Graduate students will employ effective and ethical communication strategies in instructional design.
  • Graduate students will apply current research and theory to the practice of instructional design and learning technology integration.
