About SDSU/NSU Accelerated Accounting Analytics Program:

As an undergraduate student at SDSU, you have a unique opportunity to complete both your bachelor’s degree at SDSU and your master’s degree at Northern State University in just five years.

Through SDSU and NSU’s new 4+1 program, students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting at SDSU who meet certain admission criteria can receive acceptance into NSU’s accelerated Accounting Analytics master’s program, with credits counting toward both degrees. The NSU program is offered on campus or 100% online, providing a flexible, high-quality education.

This program prepares professionals to excel as strategic leaders by integrating analytics, forensic accounting, managerial decision-making, taxation, and financial reporting into one comprehensive degree. Graduates of the program pursue careers as data scientists, financial analysts, forensic accountants, auditors, corporate controllers, and CFOs. NSU’s Accounting Analytics program is accredited by the ACBSP.

Admissions Requirements:

SDSU accounting students wishing to pursue a master’s in Accounting Analytics should apply in the fall semester of their junior year.

  1. Completed Graduate Studies Application
  2. $36.00 (non-refundable) application fee
  3. Minimum 2.75 GPA
  4. Complete at least 90 undergraduate credits (prior to enrollment term)
  5. Two letters of Recommendations

Program Overview:

The Master of Science in Accounting Analytics at Northern State University is designed for aspiring CPAs, accountants, data analysts, and financial decision-makers who want to harness the power of data in accounting and business. It prepares professionals to excel as strategic leaders by integrating analytics, forensic accounting, managerial decision-making, taxation, and financial reporting into one comprehensive degree. Graduates of the program pursue careers as data scientists, financial analysts, forensic accountants, auditors, corporate controllers, and CFOs. CPA Exam Advisory Note:

Students expecting to take the CPA exam must complete a minimum of 150 credit hours of course work. Please contact your advisor to ensure sufficient credits have been completed to meet the requirements of taking the CPA exam.  Students should consult the State Board of Accountancy in the state they wish to take the CPA exam for any other requirements.

Fourth Year - Spring (SDSU) - First Year Spring (NSU) 12-15 credits


Fifth Year Fall (Second Year Fall NSU MS Accounting Analytics) 9 credits


Fifth Year Spring (Second Year Spring NSU MS Accounting Analytics) 9-12 credits


Fifth Year Summer (Second Year Summer NSU MS Accounting Analytics) 3 credits


Final Culminating Experience
