Teaching and Learning Emphasis in Health, Physical Education and Coaching (MSEd)

This program provides educators with a background and experience in physical education and/or coaching to assume leadership positions in the field. Graduate assistantships provide opportunities for practical experience in teaching and coaching.

Career directions: coaching (prerequisite: major/minor in Health, Physical Education or coaching or equivalent experience), professional education.

A. Thesis, 6 credits (32 credit program)

  •  EDER 751 - Interpretation of Educational Research 2 credits

I. Research Foundations: 3 credits (5 credits for Option C)


II. Core Foundation: 6 credits


III. Specialization Concentration: 11 credits


  • HPE 740 - Organization and Administration of Health and Physical Education 2 credits
  • PE 755 - Analysis of Teaching in Physical Education 2 credits
