MUS 349 - Vocal Repertoire An overview of vocal repertoire from the Renaissance to the present in a variety of singing languages, including English, Italian, German, and French. Compositional and poetic styles, historical background, musical influences, and performance demands will be explored and discussed such that undergraduate students develop the ability to successfully choose appropriate vocal literature for themselves and others, particularly students at the high school level. Projects may include mock recital programming and selection of contest pieces for high school students. 2 credits
