NURS 239 - Foundations in Nursing An introduction to the nursing profession. Includes content related to the history of nursing, the nursing process, therapeutic communication, cultural and spiritual awareness, legal and ethical issues in nursing, critical thinking, care of the geriatric patient, and the role of the registered nurse in practice. Introduces basic nursing skills such as comfort measures, activities of daily living, aseptic and sterile environments, oxygen therapy, wound care, non-parenteral medication administration and other selected skills. Co-requisite: NURS 239L ; NURS 238 ; NURS 269 ; NURS 269L Admission to the BSN program 2 credits
