Physician’s Assistant (Pre-)

As a physician’s assistant, you’ll make a difference in your patients’ lives every single day, guiding them toward health and wellness. While this program isn’t a major, at Northern, we’ll match you with a degree program and the necessary coursework required to prepare you for admission into a physician’s assistant program.

This program will be a good fit if you:

• Have strong communication skills
• Are interested in science and how the body works
• Care deeply about people, their problems and pain
• Enjoy helping people
• Are detail-oriented
• Have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate integrity and compassion

Besides working as a physician’s assistant, completion of the PA program could also set you on a career path toward other medical positions, including:

• Nurse practitioner
• General physician

Students in our pre-physician’s assistant program often major in:

• Biology (BS)

And they often minor in:
