Individuals who wish to teach driver’s education in South Dakota must have eight semester hours of coursework in the following: 1) Basic driver education methodology for classroom and behind the wheel instruction; 2) Advanced driver education curriculum materials, development and improvement; and 3) General traffic safety covering schools, pedestrians, passengers, bicycles, school buses, and all other motorized vehicles.
